John joined Durham County Constabulary as a cadet in September 1966 and was appointed as a Police Constable on 1st January 1969. During his service he served at Durham, Ferryhill, Motor Patrols, Accident Unit and Armed Response Unit. John retired on 21st May 1999.
John is survived by his partner Rita, son Mark and his wife Leigh and granddaughters Sophie and Tali.
A funeral service is to be held at 11.00am Thursday 27th February 2025 at St Catherine’s Church, North Terrace, Crook DL15 9AZ. This will be followed by a committal service at 12.30pm at Durham Crematorium, South Road, Durham DH1 3TQ.
Neither of the services are private.
