Tom was appointed with Durham Constabulary in 1978, serving as a beat officer at Newton Aycliffe, Shildon, Bishop Auckland and Spennymoor. In 1987 he transferred to the Dog Section until, in 1996 Tom was posted to the Community Safety Team at Wear and Tees. Tom retired from the force in 2006.
Tom is survived by wife Pauline, son Jamie and partner Beth, daughter Melanie and husband Martyn
A funeral service is to be held at 11.30am Friday 24th January 2025 at Wear Valley Crematorium, Coundon, Bishop Auckland DL14 8PE
