Death of Retired Police Officer: D/Ch/Insp 1115 Alf Magrs

It is with deep regret that we inform you of the death of retired Police Officer, D/Ch/Insp 1115 Alf Magrs, who died at the University Hospital of North Durham on Saturday 4th May 2024, aged 73 years.

Alf joined Durham County Constabulary in 1969.  He spent most of his service in CID departments, throughout Durham County, including attachments to Special Branch and Regional Crime Squad.  He also instructed in HQ Training, teaching interview techniques.  Alf retired in 1997, from his last posting, at Peterlee.

Alf is survived by his wife, Karen.

Alf’s funeral is a Pure Cremation, therefore there will be no service.
