Durham NARPO Annual Sunday Lunch

This year’s luncheon is to be held on Sunday 1st September 2014, at the Rowlandson (Masonic) Hall, North Street, Ferryhill DL17 8XH, at 12.00 noon, meal served at 1.00pm.  

The menu and booking form will appear on the inside back cover of the next edition of the Durham Peeler magazine.  Why not come along with your spouse/partner for a warm welcome and meet up with some old colleagues and friends.

Death of Retired Police Officer: D/Ch/Insp 1115 Alf Magrs

It is with deep regret that we inform you of the death of retired Police Officer, D/Ch/Insp 1115 Alf Magrs, who died at the University Hospital of North Durham on Saturday 4th May 2024, aged 73 years.

Alf joined Durham County Constabulary in 1969.  He spent most of his service in CID departments, throughout Durham County, including attachments to Special Branch and Regional Crime Squad.  He also instructed in HQ Training, teaching interview techniques.  Alf retired in 1997, from his last posting, at Peterlee.

Alf is survived by his wife, Karen.

Alf’s funeral is a Pure Cremation, therefore there will be no service.

Our thoughts are with Alf’s family and friends at this sad time.
