Death of a retired Police Officer : Sgt 653 Colin Dixon

It is with regret that we inform you of the death of a retired Police Officer : Sgt 653 Colin Dixon, who died in North Durham Hospital on 5^th January 2022, aged 84 years.

Colin joined Durham County Constabulary in January 1959 and served most of his police career at Chester-le-Street, with occasional spells at Stanley; he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 1974 and retired in November 1985.
Colin is survived by wife Mary, son Phillip (retired Northumbria Police Officer) and grandson Will; he was also stepfather to Stephen, Tammy and grandson Anthony.
A funeral service will be held at 12.30pm Thursday 27^th January 2022 at Mountsett Crematorium, Ewehurst Road, Dipton, Stanley DH9 9JP.
Following the funeral family and friends are invited to meet at Pelton Community Centre, Front Street, Chester-le-Street DH2 1DE.
