Death of a retired Police Officer : Sgt 1879 David Steel

It is with regret that we have to announce the death of a retired Police Officer : Sgt 1879 David Steel, who died on the 17^th July 2021 aged 70 years.
David joined Durham Constabulary in 1970 and served at Hartlepool, Darlington and Bishop Auckland. David also was a Sergeant at Barnard Castle from January 2000 until his retirement on 31^st January 2002.
David was the much-loved husband of Valerie, father to Sarah and Mark and grandfather to Poppy and Penelope.
He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
A funeral will take place on Wednesday 4^th August 2021, 10:00 at All Saints Church, Ravensdale Rd, Blackwell, Darlington.
People are invited to attend, social distancing and face masks are requested.
Our thoughts are with the family at this sad time.
Donations in lieu of flowers have been requested to St Teresa’s Hospice, Darlington.
