Death of a former Police Officer : PC 1521 Michael (Mike) Heslop

It is with regret that we have to inform you of the death of a former Police Officer : PC 1521 Michael (Mike) Heslop who died peacefully on February 10th,aged 75 years.
Mike was the loving husband of Barbara, dearly loved dad of Mike, Simon and Christopher, dear father-in-law of Claire, Adele and Katy, also a devoted grandad of Oliver, Tom, Nina, George, Poppy, Finley and Darcey.
Mike initially joined Durham Constabulary in the early 60's as a police cadet. On appointment as PC 1521 he served in Durham and eventually became a Traffic Patrol officer.
Mike left Durham Constabulary to become a publican, initially at the Seven Stars at Shincliffe and in later years at the Coach & Horses on the A167 at Butchers Race,Spennymoor.
Mike was extremely proud of his time with Durham Constabulary and held many friendships with ex colleagues over the years. He was also a well respected within the establishments where he was landlord.
Will friends please meet for service at Wear Valley Crematorium, on Thursday February 20th, at 12:30pm.
Family flowers only, donations in memory may be left at the crematorium for Macmillan Cancer Care.
