Death of a retired Police Officer : 945 Maurice Douglas Cluer

It is with regret that we have to announce the death of a retired Police Officer : 945 Maurice Douglas Cluer, who passed away on the 8th December 2019. Aged 97 years.
He was appointed to Durham Constabulary on the 5th July 1947 and served at Plawsworth, Durham, Meadowfield, Annfield Plain, Horden, South Hetton and Peterlee.
He retired from the force on the 30th November 1973.
Mr Cluer was the beloved husband of the late Audrey, loving dad of Peter, Maureen, Patricia and the late Maurice, dear father-in-law of Alyson, Jim, Ian and June, also a devoted grandad and great-grandad.
Friends please meet for service at Peterlee Methodist Chapel, at 10.00am,Monday December 23rd followed by cremation at Durham.
Family flowers only, donations if so desired to Dr Barnardo's.
