Death of a retired Police Officer : Chief Inspector Ronald Dawson

It is with regret that we have to announce the death of a retired Police Officer : Chief Inspector Ronald Dawson, who passed away on the 16th September 2019. He was aged 95 years.
Ronald does not leave a widow.
He joined Durham Constabulary on the 23rd March 1946 and retired from the force on the 14th December 1975, having served at Darlington, Hebburn, Seaham Harbour, Houghton, Annfield Plain, HQ CID, British Police Unit Cyprus, Bishop Auckland, Shildon, Control Room, Serious Incident Squad, he was then seconded to Staffordshire Constabulary and also the Home Office based at Stafford as an instructor and member of the directing team regarding crime prevention training.
There will be no funeral service as Ronald has donated his body to medical science.
Donations have been requested in lieu of flowers to the Salvation Army.
Our thoughts are with the family at this sad time.

Death of a retired Police Officer : Inspector 298 Ronald Pinkney

It is with regret that we have to announce the death of a retired Police Officer :  Inspector 298 Ronald Pinkney, who passed away on the 5th September 2019.  He was aged 87 years.
Ronald was partnered to Dorothy and was father to sons Ian, Colin and the late Alan.
Ronald retired from Durham Constabulary on the 31st December 1986.
The funeral service will be taking place on the 24th September 2019 at 11.30am at Wear Valley Crematorium.
The funeral service is not private.
Donations have been requested in lieu of flowers to the Great North Air Ambulance.

Death of a retired Police Officer : PC 1423 George Ronald Cook

It is with regret that we have to announce the death of a retired Police Officer : PC 1423 George Ronald Cook, who passed away on the 19th August 2019.  He was aged 84 years.
He does not leave a widow but he leaves a son Paul and 2 daughters, Patricia and Angela, a grandson Joel, granddaughter Lauren and a great granddaughter Yvie. George was pre-deceased by his wife Betty & daughter Heather.
Prior to joining the police service, he was a Royal Marines Commando for 3 years, he then joined Durham Constabulary on the 27th May 1962, he served at HQ, Stockton, Easington, Gainford, Barnard Castle and he retired from Staindrop on the 26th May 1992.  After his retirement he was employed for 5 years with the North East ambulance service.
The funeral service will be taking place on the 5th September at 12.30pm at Wear Valley Crematorium. 
The service is not private.
