Death of a retired Police Officer : PC 865 John (Jack) Currie

It is with regret that we have to announce the death of a retired Police Officer : PC 865 John (Jack) Currie, who died on the 19^th May 2017. He was aged 83 years.
He leaves a widow Betty.
Jack was appointed at Durham Constabulary on the 25^th October 1954, he served at Chester le Street, Bishop Auckland, HQ CID Crime Patrols, motor patrols, the marine underwater search unit and Bishop Auckland.
He retired from West Auckland on the 31^st October 1984.
The funeral service will be taking place on the 2^nd June at Wear Valley Crematorium at Bishop Auckland at 11.00am. The funeral service is not private.
Donations have been requested in lieu of flowers to the Air Ambulance.
