Two ex Durham officers

Late entries marking the death of two Ex Durham Officers who later served in Northumbria up to their retirement. Regrettably, we were not informed at the time

On 29th October, 2012, John William Wile died at the age of 81 years.
He leaves a widow, Doreen. Our belated sympathies are extended to Doreen and family.
John originally joined West Yorkshire Police, transferring to Jarrow CID in the mid- 1960s where he continued to serve with Durham County until the amalgamation of 1974. He transferred  to Northumbria until his retirement.
He always told his wife “My happiest days were with the ‘Jarrow lads’”

On 16th May, 2013 Eric Pike aged 83 years, died, following a short illness. His private funeral took place in Gateshead on 24th. May, 2013.
He leaves a widow, Mildred and grown up family. Our deepest sympathies are extended to the family
Eric was a long serving committee member of Gateshead Branch and was Chairman for a number of years. He was a born organizer, always keen to help others. He was associated with the RAF Association, Car and Motorcycle sports and a keen member of the Masonic movement.
