It is with regret that we announce the death of retired Sergeant 58 Michael James (Jim) Farthing, who died on the 29th March 2013 aged 87 years.
He leaves a widow Rita May and son Michael.
He retired from Durham Constabulary in 1973 and then returned as police staff until his full retirement in 1990.
